Season 1

The first season of the series The Secret Life of the American Teenager premiered on 1^st July 2008. The season first is of twelve episodes. In the first episode of the season 1, Amy loses her virginity to Ricky at a band camp and later comes to know that she is pregnant with his child. Meanwhile Jack cheats on Grace who promises asceticism to her parents and Ben asks Amy out for a dance. Henry and Alice accidentally come to know about Ricky’s involvement with Amy, who faces the first bouts of morning sickness. Grace is unable to decide whether she should forgive Jack or move on with her life. Ben continues to hang around Amy and the two share their first kiss. Amy tells Ashley about her pregnancy while Adrian believes that Ricky is using her for sex. Grace becomes the talk of the town when she is revealed to be defending herself against two drunken men on tape. Amy tells her father about having sex but is stopped by Ashley before she can tell him about the baby. Ben’s dad suspects Amy of being pregnant and on learning this Ben proposes to her.

George leaves home and starts living with Adrian’s mother Cindy Lee, while Amy thinks about having an abortion. Amy tells her mother about her pregnancy. Ricky declares that he is ready for a shared responsibility of the baby but Amy is not ready for that. Amy’s plans of moving in with her grandmother Mimsy fall apart when the family discovers that she is having Alzheimer’s. Lauren and Madison have an argument on whether Ricky is attracted to either of them while Adrian becomes angry with Ricky for wanting to get involved with Amy in raising their baby. Amy and Ashley spend time with their dad while Madison and Jack catch Rick and Lauren off guard as they are kissing. Adrian finds her biological father but is devastated when he refuses to accept her as his daughter. In Anne’s absence George convinces Amy to continue going to her old school. Ricky and Adrian are caught shirtless by Adrian’s father while Grace takes off her purity ring and Alice and Henry have sex for the first time. In the episode “Just Say No“, which was telecast on 9^th September 2008, Adrian goes missing form school and her father calls the police. Grace is forced to wear her purity ring after her mother catches her kissing Ricky. Amy and Ben think about having sex while Anne asks George for a divorce.
