Another Pregnant Star on the Secret Life of the American Teenager
Hey teenagers! I am sorry if I shocked you with the title, but what I intended to say was that that another star from the hit series The Secret Life of the American Teenager is expecting a baby. And no it is not happening on screen, it is a real life scenario. Now you must be wondering who this would be mother is, so let me tell you it is Molly Ringwald. Yes, the gorgeous actress who plays the role of Anne Juergens in the drama series that explores teen pregnancy is to give birth to her second child sometime later this year. Reportedly, the actress is some months into her pregnancy and she is feeling elated with the news. Reportedly, she plans to work through her pregnancy though it remains to be seen how she will go about it as the producers are still finding a way to write her pregnancy into the series. Maybe, like her onscreen daughter, she will also become pregnant and then we will have a storyline where both the mother and the daughter are pregnant. Well, whatever be the case, I just want to congratulate this fantastic actress and her husband writer Panio Gianopoulos who already have a daughter named Mathilda, about being blessed with a second child.
Molly has portrayed the character of Anne on The Secret Life of the American Teenager really well. She comes across as a caring mother who understands the predicament of her teenage daughter and unlike some mothers supports her through her difficult time. The series has dealt with the consequences of an unplanned teenage pregnancy and its affect on the immediate relationship and friendships of would be mother in a non-exploitative manner. It has honestly explored the most burning issue amongst female American teenagers toady as almost one-third of teenage girls who have had sex have been pregnant at least once according to a report of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. More importantly, it has changed the misconception that pregnancy happens only to the slutty girls and made people realize that anybody including people like Amy Juergens can be caught off guard!
